Job summary

Family Help Center is a diverse nonprofit family service agency providing child welfare families with in home contacts and family interventions. Services reduce the risk of out of home child placement due to child neglect. We are searching for a dynamic Supervisor to provide innovative staff supervision and program oversight to the Family Help Center (FHC) Preventive Intensive Services Program. Opportunity for program development provided to diverse and unique families identified by Erie County Department of Social Services. Families served have children being at risk of abuse, neglect and/or foster care. Provide staff development and oversight to a team of 6 social workers who implement daily in home sessions/contacts with families. Each staff has two to three cases with daily home visits and utilizes evidence based Trauma Informed Motivational Interviewing model of casework practice. Supervisor has managerial and auditing responsibilities of staff case records to include monitoring staff electronic record keeping, progress note documentation, schedules, time sheets, manage program budget and billable units of service, etc. Supervisor must have some flexibility and responsiveness to nontraditional hours and some weekend phone coverage availability for staff support. Supervisor to provide case coverage for staff at times. Manage referrals and intake assignments, network with Department of Erie County Social Services as primary referral source. Experience with coordinating services with Department of Social Services, Child Protection and Family Court. Mandated Child Abuse Reporting

Required Qualifications

Masters or Bachelors Degree in social work/related field. Supervisory managerial experience; experience providing direct social services to families in child welfare system. Understanding of Trauma Informed Services and Motivational Interviewing.

Able to work 40 hours full time M-F salaried position with some flexibility. Drivers license required.
