Core Services is a primary prevention program providing essential support services to families in need with the goal of keeping children safe and maintaining family stability. The Core Supervisor oversees a part-time support team. The supervisor coordinates and staffs the Family Help Center’s 24-hour Family Helpline which provides counseling and education to parents in crisis, offers community linkages and referrals, and distributes emergency basic needs items such as food and formula. The Core Supervisor conducts home visits, provides ongoing case management to Helpline callers and walk in clients, and participates in community projects to bring program services to families in local neighborhoods and schools. Additionally, the Core Supervisor helps facilitate parenting groups both mandatory and voluntary.
The Core Services Supervisor must have strong organizational skills, innovation, and motivated for program development and outreach. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, ability to work independently, and demonstrate good clinical judgment.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related human services field is required with at least one year of experience in the social work field. Knowledge and experience in child development, specifically with children birth-5 years old is desirable.
Eligible candidates must possess a NYS driver’s license, own car, and have an acceptable driving record.
